10 Quarantinis to Make Your Next Zoom Happy Hour a Little Happier

Whether you’re looking for a boozy sangria or a decadent mocktail ice cream float, these simple drink recipes will make staying at home a little sweeter

SHARE IF YOU ENJOYED IT

Between working from home with your kids fighting in the background of your Zoom calls and donning a mask to make that grocery store run only to find that they still don’t have toilet paper, we could all probably use a drink. So, we’ve rounded up 10 of our favorite beverage recipes you can mix up at home for your next virtual happy hour (or midday homeschooling break). Go ahead and get a little stir-crazy!

1. GENERAL HORSEPLAY KEY LIME DAIQUIRI

Did your vacation plans get canceled? Bring Key West to your kitchen with this daiquiri recipe inspired by Florida’s iconic dessert. Garnish with graham crackers and whipped cream to really treat yo’ self.

2. WILD BERRY KOMBUCHA MOJITO

This kombucha and vodka mix is a refreshing take on your mainstream mojito. The strawberry puree and fresh lime juice make it light and refreshing, while the wild berry kombucha adds a fizzy kick that’s good for your digestive health, too.

3. SKINNY SMOKED JALAPENO MARGARITA

If you can take the heat, try this spicy margarita recipe from “Grill Girl” Robyn Lindars. Smoked jalapenos give this traditional libation a fiery flavor, but the fresh lime juice and lime sparkling water keep the tanginess intact.

4. BLUEBERRY YUM YUM COCKTAIL (WITH CBD OIL)

Feeling extra stressed these days? Relax with this bubbly blueberry cocktail, which incorporates a few drops of CBD for its calm-inducing properties. Shake up this gin-based beverage to take the edge off. Some say it even alleviates headaches and aching muscles.

5. BAR CRÈME SMASHED STRAWBERRY FLOAT

This decadent virgin dessert could easily become an adults-only beverage with a splash of strawberry vodka, but it’s just as tasty without. Mix together smashed strawberries, vanilla ice cream and botanical soda for a sweet treat. Feel free to add an extra scoop of ice cream. You deserve it!

6. SUNSET ON 30A

This recipe, inspired by the Panhandle’s summer bounty, is a vodka cocktail mixed with tomato- and watermelon-infused water and homemade jalapeno simple syrup. It’s almost as good as watching the sunset over Grayton Beach.

7. HONEY OLD-FASHIONED

Although chef Daven Wardynski from the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort personally tends to the bees who produce the honey used in this sumptuously sweet cocktail, he assures us that isn’t necessary to replicate it. Try your hand at this honey Old-Fashioned using only four simple ingredients (five if you count the honeycomb garnish).

8. THE BUM BOAT

If you aren’t socially distancing on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, sipping on this playful summertime cocktail crafted by Stanley Worrell from Bar Tulia in Naples is the next best thing. The rum-based Bum Boat has hints of pineapple, apricot and lemon for a little slice of tropical paradise on your porch.

9. ORANGE CRANBERRY ROSEMARY MIMOSA

What’s an at-home brunch without mimosas? Instead of using sugary juices as the base for the breakfast libation, this recipe opts for Natalie’s homegrown Florida Juices, which are sourced from regional produce and easily found in your neighborhood Publix.

10. CITRUS SPLASH SANGRIA

Clay Carnes of West Palm Beach’s Cholo Soy Cocina likes to think of sangria as the perfect social drink, and that doesn’t have to change just because we’re all stuck at home. Mix up a pitcher of this effervescent citrus sangria and linger on that virtual happy hour a little longer.
